Rain likely Monday, but chances diminish near first pitch time for Cardinals opener

The bad news is that there is a 90 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

But the good news is that the bulk of the wet weather is expected to move out of the area by about 3 p.m., just in time for the first pitch in the St. Louis Cardinals’ home opener at Busch Stadium.

The high temperature will be about 58, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 30 percent chance of scattered showers Monday afternoon into the early evening in the metro-east. The rain is expected to totally move out of the area by 7 p.m. The low Monday night will be 34.

Skies will be sunny Tuesday with a high of 57. That’s eight degrees cooler than the average high temperature of 65 for mid April in the St. Louis area.

It will be clear with a low of 36 Tuesday night, nine degrees cooler than the average low temperature for this time of year, 45.

On Wednesday, skies will be sunny with a high of 63.

It will be mostly clear with a low of 40 Wednesday night.
