Lottery declares winner in Centreville Township committeeman race
Peggy Pierce is now the Centreville Township Precinct 20 Democratic Precinct Committeeman. She won a lottery drawing held Tuesday morning at the St. Clair County Courthouse.
Pierce and her opponent Rhonda Nichols each received 54 votes in the March 15 primary election, according to the official election results. Clifford Hults finished third with 28 votes.
Mikayla James, 20, of Worden drew the winning name after she was asked by St. Clair County Clerk Thomas Holbrook. James was at the clerk’s office to get a marriage license with her financé Ian Buenger of Granite City.
