▪ Two men have been charged in connection with the beating of a MetroLink security guard Monday in Belleville.
The attack happened on the platform at the Scheel Street station.
According to St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department reports, a private security guard told the men to move back on the platform because they were hanging their feet over the edge. The men allegedly became violent and attacked the guard.
▪ On Tuesday, the first baby was born at Memorial Hospital’s new O’Fallon facility.
The baby boy is the son of Sasha and Brett Hanvey of Millstadt.
The baby was born at 9:05 a.m. by cesarean section. The parents arrived at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. that morning, just as the hospital opened for its first day of business.
