IDOT to paint bridges along I-55/70 near Collinsville

Bridge painting over Canteen Creek near Collinsville along Interstate 55/70 is set to lead to lane reductions in both directions, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

IDOT plans to reduce the highway to two lanes in both directions during non-rush hours beginning Monday, weather permitting, the agency said.

All eastbound lanes will remain open to traffic from 3 to 6 p.m., and all westbound lanes will remain open to traffic from 6 to 9 a.m. The lane reductions are required to paint bridges; the work is expected to be completed by June, IDOT said.
