Highs near 80 today, Monday; Chance of storms later in the week

The metro-east will enjoy a couple sunny days before the thunderstorms return, according to the National Weather Service.

Today and Monday will bring sunny skies and temperatures as high 80 degrees. By Monday night, however, expect increasing clouds and a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low temperature Monday will be around 56.

On Tuesday, there’s another 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, and a 30 percent chance in the evening. The high temperature will be near 76, and the low will be around 57.

The chance of storms increase to 50 percent by Wednesday, when the high will be near 71 and the low around 57.
