Showers, thunderstorms likely next three days

After several days in a row without rain, things are about to even out for the metro-east.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers and potentially a thunderstorm Tuesday with the most likely time for rain coming after 1 p.m. The high temperature will be 77.

The chance of rain remains at 30 percent Tuesday night, when the low will be 57.

The likelihood of thunderstorms increases to 60 percent Wednesday, when the high will be 72.

There is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night, when the low will be 56.

The possibility of showers and thunderstorms falls to 30 percent Thursday, when the temperature will peak at 73.

Thursday night the low will be 53 with a 20 percent chance of showers.

The extended forecast calls for mostly sunny skies Friday with a high of 70, sun and a high of 73 Saturday and mostly sunny skies with a high of 79 Sunday.
