Rain, wind likely Wednesday; skies should clear for weekend

Showers and thunderstorms are likely Wednesday for the metro-east.

There is a 60 percent chance of wet weather during the day, according to the National Weather Service. The high will reach 72 with winds that will gust at up to 21 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast Wednesday night. The chance of rain will stay at 60 percent until 10 p.m. when it will decrease to 30 percent.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain Thursday morning. The high will reach 73 and the likelihood of rain will increase to 30 percent after 1 p.m.

Wet weather is expected to move out of the area by Friday when skies will be mostly sunny with a high of 71.

It will be partly cloudy Friday night with a low of 47.

The forecast calls for a beautiful weekend with sunny skies and a high of 73 Saturday and sun with a high of 81 Sunday.
