IDOT to close eastbound MLK bridge traffic
The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to close eastbound lanes of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge over the Mississippi River in East St. Louis over the weekend.
The closure is planned to begin at 8 p.m. Friday. The lanes are expected to reopen to traffic before 6 a.m. Monday, the agency said.
This closure is necessary to make repairs that were planned as part of the ongoing bridge rehabilitation project, IDOT said.
Additional closures maybe needed and will be limited to weekends and weekdays during non-rush hours, the agency said.
