Slight chance of showers Friday afternoon, then a sunny, warm weekend

Skies are expected to be mostly sunny during the bulk of the day Friday in the metro-east.

But a 20 percent chance of isolated showers has crept into the forecast during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be 72.

Evening clouds will break up as the night goes on. The overnight low will be 48.

It will be sunny Saturday with a high of 73 and skies will remain clear Saturday night, when the low will be 55.

On Sunday, the temperature will shoot up to 80. That’s 11 degrees warmer than the average high temperature of 69 for this time of year in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms Sunday night.
