Storms making their way to the metro-east

After another cloudless weekend, showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the work week, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures Sunday will reach as high as 80 on the sunny day in the metro-east. But rain is possible as early as Monday, with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph.

Monday will see a high temperature near 81 and a low around 63.

On Tuesday, the chance for showers and thunderstorms increases slightly to 30 percent. The temperature will also see an increase to near 82, with a low around 62.

Storms are likely Tuesday evening and Wednesday, with 60 percent and 70 percent chances of precipitation, respectively. Wednesday night, there’s a 50 percent chance for storms.

Wednesday will bring the coolest temperatures in several days: a high near 75 and low around 58.
