Sunny skies expected Monday, storms likely next several days

Mostly sunny skies are expected Monday across the metro-east.

But there is a slight chance of thunderstorms Monday night and an increasing likelihood of rough weather as the week goes on.

The high will be 83, according to the National Weather Service. That’s 13 degrees warmer than the average high of 70 for this time of year in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The chance of storms Monday night is pegged at 20 percent, and the low will be 64.

The possibility of thunderstorms increases to 40 percent Tuesday, when the high will be 82.

Tuesday night, the chance of storms will increase to 60 percent. The low will be 63.

On Wednesday, the chance of storms is 70 percent and the high will reach 77.

The chance of storms remains at 70 percent Wednesday night, when the low will be 59.

There is a marginal chance that storms Wednesday could become severe with high winds and hail possible.
