St. Elizabeth’s wants your photos for new hospital
St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville is asking photographers — professional and amateur — to submit digital photographs for possible display at its new facility under construction in O’Fallon, which is expected to open in the fall of 2017.
“We are looking for artwork that will bring the essence of our region into the hospital to create a healing environment and inspire the mind, body, and spirit. The ultimate goal is to share the meaningful and beautiful imagery submitted by our community with all who enter our building,” said Peg Sebastian, president and chief executive officer of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. “If you have a photo that you feel will bring joy or comfort to our colleagues, patients and visitors, I encourage you to submit it for consideration as a piece of art for the new facility.”
Once photos are chosen, they will be transformed into gallery wraps in order to maintain a common theme throughout the facility.
While not all images will be chosen, a $25 premium fee will be paid to the artist(s) for each photo used. A person’s submission authorizes St. Elizabeth’s Hospital limited use of the photo to be reproduced as a wall hanging displayed throughout St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
Suggested categories are as follows:
▪ Wildflowers/trees
▪ Buildings
▪ Wildlife
▪ Domestic animals/livestock
▪ Landscapes
▪ Rivers/lakes/streams
▪ Everyday people at community events
▪ Community activities and events — Festivals, concerts, parades, fairs, art shows and sporting events
▪ Seasons
▪ Parks and monuments
Upon submission, each photo should have a title. Files should be at least 300 pixels per inch. They can be submitted using a CD, DVD or USB drive. Submission forms can be online at www.steliz.org or copies are available at the photo sample wall in the hallway outside of the Emergency Department waiting area and at the main lobby information desk.
