Cooler Friday; storms arrive later in the day, stay through weekend

Partly sunny skies are expected at least during the early part of Friday.

But it looks like it’s going to be a wet weekend across the metro-east. According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance that storms could be severe.

The high Friday will be 70, one degree cooler than the average peak temperature for late April in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

The chance of storms will increase to 50 percent Friday evening, when the low will be 58.

There is an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms Saturday morning, when the high will be 75.

Saturday night, there is a 50 percent chance of storms with a low of 56.

It will be cooler Sunday with a high of 67. There is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms.

Sunday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers with a low of 48.
