Forecast: Rain and storms Saturday; some could be severe
Saturday’s forecast for the metro-east calls for rain and storms.
Widespread rain in the morning was expected to diminish by midday. But there’s another chance for more isolated storms later in the afternoon and evening. Although isolated, storms may be severe. There’s a possibility of high wind and hail, and a low threat for an isolated tornado.
Here’s the National Weather Service’s full forecast for the region:
Today...Mostly cloudy. Showers and isolated thunderstorms in the morning...Then chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. High in the lower 70s. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph in the morning shifting to the south in the afternoon. Chance of rain 90 percent.
Tonight...Partly cloudy. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Low in the mid 50s. South wind around 10 mph in the evening becoming light after midnight.
Sunday...Partly sunny with chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms. High around 70. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
Sunday night...Mostly cloudy. Low around 50. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
Monday...Mostly cloudy. High in the lower 60s. North wind around 10 mph.
Monday night...Partly cloudy. Low around 50.
Tuesday...Partly cloudy. High around 70.
Tuesday night through Friday...Mostly clear. Low around 50. High in the upper 60s to mid 70s.
