Cooler than normal temperatures to start week

Cool weather and the possibility of scattered showers are in the forecast Monday for the metro-east.

The high will reach only 61, according to the National Weather Service. That’s 11 degrees cooler than the average high of 72 for May 2 in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The best chance of rain comes between 7-10 a.m.

Monday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. After that, skies will become mostly cloudy with a low of 48.

It will be mostly sunny Tuesday with a high of 68.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 50.

There is a slight chance of showers in the forecast again Wednesday, when the high will be 68.

Wednesday night, skies will be mostly clear with a low of 46.
