IDOT plans lane restrictions along I-270

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to have intermittent lane restrictions along Interstate 270 from the Chain of Rocks Bridge to Interstate 55/70 beginning Wednesday, the agency said.

Work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. on eastbound lanes and between the hours of 9 a.m and 5 p.m. on westbound lanes.

Workers plan to replace raised reflective pavement markers on this route, IDOT said. This work is expected to be completed by June.

Motorists are urged to be patient, reduce speed, obey all warning signs and use caution when traveling through the work zone, IDOT said.
