Cool temperatures remain through Thursday

Mostly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day Tuesday in the metro-east with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon.

The high will be 66, about five degrees cooler than normal for this time of year in the St. Louis metropolitan area, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 20 percent chance of isolated showers after 2 p.m.

Overnight the low is expected to fall to 51 under partly cloudy skies.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain Wednesday morning with wind gusts of up to 25 mph. The high will reach 67 and skies will become partly sunny later in the day.

It will be mostly clear Wednesday night with a low of 45.

Skies will be sunny Thursday with a high of 67.

The low will be 47 Thursday night under mostly clear skies.
