Don’t Miss This: East St. Louis bank held up

▪ Police on Monday were able to nab a suspect shortly after they say he robbed a bank in East St. Louis.
Police were called to the Associated Bank on Missouri Avenue at about 9 a.m. with reports of a hold up.
Officers arrested a man, whose name hasn’t been released pending formal charges, a short time later.
▪ A highland man who solicited people he believed were underage girls for sexually-charged online chats has been sentenced to 17.5 years in a federal prison.
Richard Hogg pleaded guilty and was sentenced on five counts of possessing child pornography.
Hogg admitted to authorities he had about 1,000 images of children having sex on his personal computer.
▪ Lindenwood-Belleville students say they feel safe as one of their classmates recovers from being struck by a vehicle on West Main Street.
Students have to cross the street, which averages more than 10,400 vehicles a day, on their way to and from class. Some think more crosswalks would help. But most think that being careful is enough to stay safe.
