IDOT doing work along Marine Road in Madison County

The Illinois Department of Transportation has put in place intermittent lane restrictions along Marine Road between the Illinois 143 and U.S. Route 40, the agency said.

Workers are slated to perform an oil-and-chip seal coat of the existing pavement, IDOT said. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

Work is planned to take place daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., IDOT said.

Delays are expected, and IDOT asks motorists to be patient, reduce speed and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

Additional signing, traffic control devices and flaggers will be used to assist motorists through the work zones, the agency said.
