Showers early, cool temperatures all day Wednesday

Scattered showers and cooler than average temperatures are in the forecast Wednesday for the metro-east.

The most likely time for rain is in the morning, when there is a 50 percent chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service. Skies will start to clear as the day goes on.

The high temperature will be 67, about six degrees cooler than the average high of 73 for this time of year in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Skies will become mostly clear Wednesday night, when the low will be 45.

Sunny skies return Thursday, when the high will be 67.

It will be mostly clear Thursday night with a low of 47.

On Friday the high will shoot up to 78 under clear skies. The overnight low will be 57.

The weekend forecast calls for sun and a high of 83 Saturday.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain Saturday night with a low of 56.
