Warm today with chance of afternoon showers; Mother’s Day also could bring rain

The forecast for Saturday calls for sunny skies and warm temperatures until late in the afternoon, when clouds and storms could arrive.

Skies will be mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 80s during the morning and early-afternoon. Increasing clouds are likely later in the afternoon with a few showers and storms scattered north and northeast of St. Louis by late in the day, into Saturday evening.

On Sunday, Mother’s Day, look for partly sunny skies in the morning, then mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. High around 80. Light wind in the morning becoming south around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Monday...Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...Then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. High in the mid 70s. Temperature steady or slowly falling in the afternoon. South wind 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Monday night...Showers and thunderstorms. Low in the lower 60s. Chance of rain 80 percent.

Tuesday...Showers and thunderstorms likely. High in the mid 70s. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Tuesday night...Partly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low around 60.

Wednesday...Partly sunny with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. High around 80.

Wednesday night...Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low in the upper 50s.

Thursday...Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. High in the mid 70s.
