Reporter seeks comments from people with workplace lead exposure

The News-Democrat wants to speak with adults who have submitted blood tests for lead exposure in the workplace.

Lead is a well-known hazardous substance, especially for children, who are often tested. Adults, however, rarely are tested, and the News-Democrat is interested in learning more about how companies have followed up with exposed workers and how lead has affected them.

Workplace lead exposure seems to be a bigger problem in the metro-east than in other areas of the state — Madison County ranks second in Illinois for it.
