Dairy truck uprighted near Waterloo
An overturned Farm Fresh semi truck carrying milk is blocking one lane of Illinois 3 about three miles north of Waterloo Tuesday morning.
Illinois 3 was closed while workers offloaded the milk from the truck. Crews were then attempting to right the vehicle so the roadway could be cleared.
Skid marks at the scene indicated the driver veered off the right side of the road, over corrected for the skid and jack-knifed, toppling the truck onto its right side.
There was no immediate indication of what caused him to lose control. Police at the scene said the driver appeared to be OK after the crash.
The crash happened just south of town at about 5:45 a.m. and has caused traffic to slow in the area. Motorists should find another route for their morning commute as the road is cleared.
