Madison County set to introduce Domestic Violence Accountability Court

A public meeting is scheduled 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Madison County Courthouse in Edwardsville with the purpose of introducing the Domestic Violence Accountability Court (DVAC).

The Madison County DVAC is set to begin on June 1. The state’s attorney’s office said the DVAC will hear all levels of intimate-partner offenses, with a primary focus on victim assistance, offender accountability and efficiency in the judicial system. The meeting will introduce the defense bar, service providers and the general public to the DVAC, as well as cover pertinent policies and procedures.

The informational session will be recorded and made available for those who are unable to attend at www.co.madison.il.us/departments/circuit_court/specialty_courts.php.
