Don’t Miss This: Belleville teen charged in St. Louis carjacking, homicide

A Belleville teen is in custody following a carjacking and homicide that occurred on Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis over the weekend. Police say Ross Randolph, 19, and another man who police are still searching for were involved. Police say the unidentified other suspect is the one who shot and killed Brandi Hill, 21, after he shoved his way into her car. Hill’s infant daughter was in the car at the time.

U.S. Rep. Mike Bost, R-Murphysboro, has called for an investigation by the Department of Defense to examine what he called the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ “faulty” report that led officials to choose a blighted north St. Louis site for the new western headquarters of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency instead of farmland in St. Clair County.

Democrats in the Illinois House on Wednesday rammed through a state budget worth about $40 billion without considering Gov. Bruce Rauner’s proposed reforms. Republicans were livid, including minority leader Jim Durkin, who said “What just happened in the House of Representatives is something which I've never witnessed in my many years here, but I would just say it's a very sad and a dark day for Illinois democracy.” The vote was 63-53—not enough to override a veto by Rauner.

You’ll be forgiven for feeling blue today after the St. Louis Blues last night lost 5-2 to the San Jose Sharks, eliminating them from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The sluggish Blues remained scoreless until the third period in Wednesday night’s game.
