Railroad work planned west of Highland on Friday

Weather permitting, the area near Lake Road and Highland Road in Madison County is scheduled to be closed Friday for emergency railroad repairs, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

CSX Transportation plans to rehabilitate its railroad crossing, IDOT said.

A marked detour is planned to be in place during the work.

Work is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to noon, IDOT said.
