Hope for Heroes donation drive set seeks clothing, household items
Community members are invited to donate gently-used clothing and household items in Fairview Heights this Saturday in support of the local Hope for Heroes program.
Xi Chi Chapter #5456 of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International is working in conjunction with Savers for the donation drive. Donated clothing and items may be taken to the Armed Forces Recruiting Center, 10855 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Every bag or box full of items donated will get a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes. Funds raised will be used to continue the support and benefit area military troops overseas in combat zones, returning wounded warriors, disabled area veterans and their families.
The Hope for Heroes program collects items needed, such as snacks, T-shirts, socks, bath towels, hygiene items, DVDs and more. A full list of needs can be found at hope-for-heroes.com
For those who are unable to participate Saturday, the following sites are also available to collect donations: Roxana Community Center in Roxana, SuprTEK in O’Fallon, Crossroad Motors in Caseyville, Top Shop Auctions Inc. in Germantown, BC Signs in O’Fallon, Advantage Family Chiropractic in Belleville, Public Library in Fairview Heights, Progressive Property Network Inc. in O’Fallon, Gifts for Individuals in O’Fallon, Frieze Harley-Davidson in O’Fallon and O’Fallon City Hall.
