Maureen Houston named BND features editor

A longtime News-Democrat features writer and photographer has been named the paper’s features editor.

Maureen Houston joined the BND in 1978. She is the paper’s former food editor and editor of the BND Magazine.

She replaces Patrick Kuhl, a 40-plus-year veteran journalist who retired earlier this month after 32 years at the News-Democrat and 29 years as features editor.

“Pat’s is a hard act to follow,” Houston said. “But I will give it my best shot.”
