IDOT to resurface roads near Granite City

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to have lane restrictions on St. Thomas Road between the north and south intersections of Illinois 3 and West Chain of Rocks Road between St. Thomas Road and Old Alton Road near Granite City, the agency said.

The roads are expected to be intermittently restricted to one lane beginning on Friday, weather permitting.

Work is scheduled to take place daily between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and is necessary to construct an oil and chip coating on these routes, IDOT said. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

Delays are expected, IDOT said.
