One intersection on Illinois 158 has two crashes in 10-minute span; 4 injured

One intersection between Millstadt and Columbia saw two crashes within 10 minutes on Saturday, and the Illinois State Police say the intersection is a familiar one to them.

The first crash at Illinois 158 and Douglas Road was called in at 12:01 p.m., says ISP spokesman Trooper Calvin Dye. The second was called in at 12:10 p.m. Both crashes involved two vehicles at the T-intersection, and both crashes had injuries.

Four people were being treated for injuries Saturday afternoon; one of them was flown to a St. Louis hospital.

“It’s probably one of the main locations we get called to crashes,” Dye said.

No other information on the crashes or the conditions of the injured people was immediately available.
