Temperatures well into the 90s with chance for storms next few days

Unusually hot temperatures and a chance of thunderstorms will dominate the weather pattern for the early part of the work week.

Skies will be sunny Monday morning across the metro-east as the high climbs toward 92 with a heat index of 100. But there is a 30 percent chance of storms after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of storms remains at 30 percent into the evening hours with the most likely chance for rain coming before 8 p.m. The low will be 72.

The high will reach 93 Tuesday with a heat index of 101. There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms throughout the day with a slight chance storms could become severe.

Tuesday night, the low is expected to be 75.

There is a 30 percent chance of storms late Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

The high Wednesday will reach 96 with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms.

Wednesday night the low will be 73 under mostly clear skies.
