SWIC Granite City Campus closed by power failure

Southwestern Illinois College has closed its Sam Wolf Granite City Campus for the rest of the day Monday.

The electricity has been off since about 12:50 p.m. No word has been given about the cause of the power failure.

The decision to cancel school was made when Ameren Illinois was unable to give a firm time for when electricity would be restored.

Classes are expected to resume as normal Tuesday.
