▪ First responders across the metro-east on Thursday celebrated the life of St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department deputy Eric Browder.
Diagnosed a year ago with pancreatic cancer, Browder died Wednesday. On Thursday, officers from all over the region honored him with an escort from Barnes Hospital in St. Louis to a funeral home in Fairview Heights.
His funeral will be held Friday.
▪ An investigation is underway in what happened to a person whose body was found Thursday in Granite City.
The body was found in water along Illinois 3 near St. Thomas Road.
As of Friday morning, authorities have released no information about the identity of the person or the suspected cause of death.
▪ Unfortunately, the horror of the recent massacre in Orlando isn’t new.

Days of violence, as opposed to a single shooting like the attack in Florida last week, terrorized the city for weeks.
