Chance of thunderstorms on Father’s Day

Thunderstorms are possible on Father’s Day, and the threat remains in the forecast throughout the week, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 20 percent chance of showers and storms after 1 p.m. Despite the chance of rain, Father’s Day will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 92 and a low around 71.

Monday will also be mostly sunny, and temperatures are expected to rise again. The high will be near 95, with heat index values as high as 100. The low will be around 72.

On Tuesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m., and a 40 percent chance of storms throughout the day. It will cool off on the partly sunny day, with a high near 88 and a low around 70.

There is a 30 percent chance of storms on Wednesday, when it will be mostly sunny. The high will be near 92, and the low will be around 74.
