One more day of hot and humid weather is in store for the metro-east Monday – then things will get much cooler.
The high will reach 94, according to the National Weather Service with skies that start off mostly cloudy, gradually clearing throughout the day.
It will be mostly clear Monday night with a low dropping to 67.
The high Tuesday is expected to reach only 84 under mostly sunny skies. After a couple of weeks of heat well above normal for this time of year, the high will be about three degrees cooler than the average peak for late June in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Overnight Tuesday, the mercury will drop to 58.
On Wednesday, the high will struggle to get out of the 70s, peaking at only 80. Skies will be clear with a breeze from the north at 5-7 mph.
It will be partly cloudy Wednesday night with a low of 60.
