▪ A metro-east man is facing a reckless homicide charge after he struck and killed a 16-year-old boy while driving.

Justin W Schulte, 27, was initially charged with reckless conduct in connection with the death of Cameron Curran eight months ago on Old St. Louis Road.

A grand jury added the second felony county. Schulte has pleaded not guilty to the first charge.

▪ Police have three men in custody and are looking for a fourth in connection with an early morning armed robbery in East St. Louis.

Police got a call At about 4:45 a.m. Sunday in which the victims said they were standing outside a home when the suspects pulled up in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix.

The suspects got out of the vehicle, announced a robbery and stole jewelry and other items before fleeing.

▪ The identity of the man who was shot late Thursday by Belleville police has been released.

The man is Angelo Brown, 35, of St. Louis.

Officers were called at about 10 p.m. to West Pheasantwood Drive with reports of a man with a gun. When they arrived, there was a confrontation and Brown is alleged to have fired at officers before they returned shots.

Brown died from his wounds.

The Illinois State Police are investigating the case.
