Property auction scheduled July 27-28
More than 650 parcels of property and mobile homes that were delinquent on property taxes in St. Clair County are scheduled to go up for auction on July 27-28.
Properties for sale will be those that were delinquent in 2012, and mobile homes that were delinquent in 2013, the county said. Tax proceedings on those properties have been completed.
St. Clair County plans to auction off 553 real estate properties and 104 mobile homes.
Starting bids on all properties is set at $750. Written bids will be accepted, and must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Full payment is required with all prewritten bids. The highest bid received will be announced before the auctioneer opens the oral bidding, the county said.
Items will be sold to the highest bidder.
The county said it hopes people who buy the properties and mobile homes will maintain them, improve neighborhood appearances, which would help improve values of adjoining properties.
