A Belleville man faces more charges after police said they found a stolen truck and related items in the metro-east.

Shiloh Police Sgt. Jesse Phillips said the suspect, identified as Cameron C. Medley, was already in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for an unrelated case where Shiloh police arrested Medley on multiple misdemeanor charges earlier this month, including theft, battery and resisting a peace officer. On Tuesday, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office added two felony charges against Medley: unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle and burglary.

According to Phillips, police received a report of a stolen truck on June 30 at a residence located in the 300 block of Radcliff Road. During the investigation, police recovered items taken from inside the vehicle at a local pawn shop. The items were found on July 12, Phillips said. The truck was found two days later in the 400 block of South 25th Street in East St. Louis.

Police identified 24-year-old Medley as a suspect in the case, which was presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

Police said Medley remained in the couny jail on Wednesday. The suspect’s bail was set at $50,000.
