Belleville Street Department continues post-storm clean-up
The Belleville Street Department has announced its workers will continue to pick up fallen tree limbs in front of residences if they are placed on the curb, or will accept limbs taken to the department facility at 2915 S. Freeburg Ave., Belleville
All tree limbs should be dropped off by the curb. Please do not block sidewalks or put limbs in the street.
The Belleville Street Department began to clear storm debris from roadways and sidewalks in a process that began at the far west end of Belleville on July 18, with crews working eastward. They plan to continue the clean-up until it is complete, which could take several weeks.
The Belleville Street Department staff will be working on the clean-up throughout the upcoming weekend, as they did last weekend, in to expedite the clean-up. Residents who are elderly or have disabilities and need additional assistance can call the city to request help.
