The Swansea Police Department said on Friday that it is reaching out to the public to help identify a man suspected of burglarizing an area business.

Surveillance images of suspect were posted on the department’s Facebook page Friday afternoon.

Swansea Detective Daniel Lipe said the man was suspected of breaking into the business more than once within the last two months. The last known burglary was reported July 23, according to police.

Police did not identify the name of the business, but said it is located off Illinois 159 in Swansea.

A $1,500 reward was put up by the business for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the suspect, according to police.

“Hopefully someone will be able to identify the suspect and will come forward and do the right thing,” Lipe said.

Lipe said anyone with information about the suspect may contact him at 618-233-8114 or email dlipe@swanseail.org. Police said tips may also be submitted anonymously.
