Lane restrictions planned around East St. Louis Wednesday, Thursday

Lane restrictions are planned in East St. Louis on Wednesday and Thursday to allow for railroad bridge inspections, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

Weather permitting, the lane closures planned are:

▪  One lane shut down on 9th Street/Collinsville Road between Lake Avenue and Illinois 203 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday

▪  One lane shut down on Mississippi Avenue (8th Street) at the intersection of Cook Street between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday

The Kansas City Southern Railroad plans to perform bridge inspections at each of the locations, IDOT said.

Delays are anticipated and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, IDOT said.
