Northwest Fire Department holding blood drive Friday in Belleville

A blood drive is scheduled for 2-7 p.m. Friday at the Northwest St. Clair County Fire Protection District located at 3407 South Belt West in Belleville.

Northwest Fire Chief Chester Borkowski said this summer is “a critical time” when blood is needed due to the high number of vehicle crashes.

Friday’s blood drive is set to be held with the American Red Cross.

To make an appointment to donate blood, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org with the sponsor code, “Lifesaver.”

Donors will receive a special-edition “Lifesaver” T-shirt while supplies last.

Anyone interested in participating in the blood drive is asked to bring a valid photo ID.
