Road closure planned along North Green Mount

The St. Clair County Department of Roads and Bridges plans to have a road closure along North Green Mount Road at B Street.

Norfolk Southern Railroad plans to make repairs to the existing railroad crossing.

The work is scheduled to begin Wednesday morning and be completed Friday.

A detour is planned for motorists who would want to go through the closure area.

Jim Fields, St. Clair county engineer, said motorists who normally use North Green Mount between Illinois 161 and Lebanon Avenue will be detoured to Old Collinsville Road and West Boulevard.

North Green Mount Road is planned to remain open, however, for local traffic and for motorists who do not need to cross B Street.
