Westbound I-55/64 to be reduced by one lane

The Illinois Department of Transportation said the right lane of westbound Interstate 55/64 will be closed Thursday from Third Street to Tudor Avenue in East St. Louis beginning at 10 a.m.

The work is necessary to make repairs caused by a vehicular accident from Wednesday; work should be complete and lanes open by 2 p.m. today, the agency said.

Motorists are urged to be patient, reduce speed, obey all warning signs and allow extra time when traveling through the work zone, IDOT said.
