Collinsville Road to be closed in East St. Louis for six days

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to have Collinsville Road/ 9th Street between Lake Avenue and Illinois 203 closed for six days, the agency said.

Workers plan to close the road at 7 a.m. Monday until Saturday, to allow the Kansas City Southern Railroad to rehabilitate its bridges, IDOT said. The work is weather permitting.

A marked detour is planned to be in place to guide motorists around the closure, the agency said.

IDOT asked motorists be patient and use extra caution near the work area.
