▪ Authorities say one person died when a pickup and a tanker-truck collided Saturday morning in Cahokia.
The driver of the pickup, 24-year-old Kaleb Nadler of Cahokia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
▪ Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner joined federal, state and local officials in cutting the ribbon to open the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Global Operations Command Facility Thursday morning at Scott Air Force Base.
The facility houses the largest cyber operations center in the United States and provides centralized housing for all of the 950-plus DISA Global Joint Military, Civilian and Contractor Workforce.
▪ A group of “Black Lives” protesters interrupted the Muny production of “Aida” Tuesday night in Forest Park.
Between 30-50 people carrying a “The Muny Says Black Lives Matter” banner sang and chanted slogans from the free seats at the outdoor theater, causing a 20-minute delay as the musical’s second act was starting.
