Chance of rain, thunderstorms starts off weekend

Thunderstorms are possible Friday in the metro-east, according to the National Weather Service.

A 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms is in the forecast, mainly after 2 p.m. Friday. Otherwise, Friday should be partly sunny with a high around 84.

Friday night has a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, mainly after 9 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a low near 71.

Saturday...Showers and thunderstorms likely. High in the lower 80s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph in the morning shifting to the west in the afternoon. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Saturday night...Cooler. Partly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Low in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday...Mostly sunny. High around 80. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Sunday night...Clear. Low around 60.

Monday...Sunny. High in the lower 80s.

Monday night...Clear. Low in the lower 60s.

Tuesday...Partly cloudy. High in the lower 80s.

Tuesday night...Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low in the upper 60s.

Wednesday...Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. High in the lower 80s.

Wednesday night...Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low around 70.

Thursday...Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. High in the mid 80s.
