Man charged with unlawful weapon possession after ‘shots fired’ call
An East St. Louis man has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon in relation to a call of shots fired, Fairview Heights Police said.
Michael R. Davis, 32, was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and had his bond set at $75,000, police said on Saturday.
Fairview Heights Police Department on Wednesday received calls of shots being fired in the area of the 10000 block of South Road Lane. After police arrived they took three people into custody without incident for questioning.
At the scene, officers found one 357 magnum pistol, one 9mm pistol, and one 223 AR-styled rifle as well as gun shell casings lying on the back porch area, police said.
During the search of the residence officers also found a small amount of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia, police said.
The St. Clair County State’s Office then charged Davis.
No one was hurt in the incident, police said.
