Scott Drive in the Air Force base to remain closed until Thursday

Old Illinois 158/Scott Drive between Patriots Drive and Winters Street in Scott Air Force Base is expected to remain closed until 5 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

The road closure is necessary to allow the Norfolk Southern Railroad Company to rehabilitate its crossing, IDOT said.

A marked detour is planned to guide motorists around the closure. IDOT asked that motorists be patient and use extra caution near and throughout the work area.
