Heat and humidity sticking around; chance for rain and storms

High temperatures of about 90 were expected to continue in the metro-east through the weekend, along with chances for showers and storms.

Saturday’s forecast calls for a high of about 89 with high humidity, creating a sticky heat index near 95. There’s a 30 percent chance for rain and storms.

Sunday’s forecast calls for a high of about 90. With high humidity, the heat index will reach near 97. Again, there’s about a 30 percent chance for rain or storms.

Sunday...Partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. High around 90. Light wind in the morning becoming southeast around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday night...Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Light wind.
